How to delete EUAs

EUAs are traded at different trading places (e.g. climex, EXAA, powernext, ECX, climatecorp). Once a buyer and a seller have agreed about a trading price, the EUAs are transferred to the buyer’s emissions trading account at his local registry (in our case the DEHSt, Germany).

The process to retire CO2 emission allowances takes place in 4 steps:

1. We obtain a donation or membership fee from you. We save until we have a sufficient money to execute an EUA order.

2. We contact our broker and let him know the amount of EUAs we want to purchase.

3. The broker transfers the EUAs to our emission trading account (DE-121-2092-0).

4. We delete the acquired EUAs from our trading account and obtain a booking voucher from the registry.
